DEVAPI
MAHARSHI DIVIDED YOU PERISH |
|
A man built a house of seven floors with the cooperation of his lady. He begot 7 children and let them live in it. The man and the lady went on pilgrimage. The seven children married and begot children. They divided the house into 7 parts. They started living in portions owning them up as theirs. Each one of them gave birth to 7 children. As the children grew up they further divided the house by 7. The house was thus divided into 49 little portions. Every one found themselves uncomfortable with the little portions. They thought of annexing others portions either crudely or intelligently. The disputes arose and they have ever been quarrelling and the quarrel has not ended. The grandfather along with his lady received the news of innumerable quarrels and wanted to set right the situation. He sent 7 helpers. The 7 helpers are working incessantly to impart knowledge. The work did not yet bear fruits. One night the seven teachers/helpers gathered the whole group under the sky and a voice broke-out from the sky, “divided you perish.” And the second night it happened again; so also on the third night. On the fourth night when they gathered again in the open area outside the house a thunder and lightning struck the house and the house perished. The group are now trying to find the way to rebuild the house. |
